Canto 17. Slothful (Jan. 2017)

As the night and fog begin to receed, the poem's 17th canto
finds the poet imagining additional examples of rage
and then encountering a meek angel before ascending to the
4th level of purgatory where the sin of sloth is purged.
At this point Dante's guide sums up the three previous sins
and explains that sloth is the result of inadequate love.
